Open Air Mission

The aims remain unchanged since the Mission was established in 1853.

• The first was to send out and support evangelists, to go to open-air venues where crowds gathered and preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
• The second was to encourage other believers to seize the opportunity to be involved in open-air evangelism, something we actively seek to do wherever we go.

We have teams visiting the race meetings, the fairgrounds, seaside beaches and many special events alongside regular weekly meetings in about 50 towns and cities across Great Britain.

Well over 2,000 open-air meetings a year are conducted by our workers and we are thus contacting many thousands of people who would not otherwise hear about God’s great salvation.
