What we
Believe?		We believe in a sovereign God who created the physical universe of space and time. We believe all humankind became estranged from God and, through continuing individual acts of rebellion, every one of us stands justly condemned before a holy and righteous Judge.

From the beginning God, in his love for us, planned our reconciliation through the death of his Son. Forgiveness is freely available to anyone who accepts the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ for their own sins.

We believe in the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in sustaining us, and in the ultimate future restoration of a "new earth" on the return of Jesus Christ as Lord of all. We believe that such a sovereign and caring God has ensured that we have an accurate and reliable testimony in the form of the Bible.

Points of Faith

  • There is one triune God - the Father, Son and Holy Spirit - who is the Creator and Judge of all.

  • Men and women are sinners, having rebelled against Him.

  • In His amazing love He has sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, into this worls. He was tempted in every way as we are but never once yielded to sin.

  • He then offered Himself on the cross of Calvary as our sin-bearing substitute to reconcile us to God.

  • He rose triumphant from the grave and ascended into heaven, from which one day He will return in glory and power.

  • This same Jesus has commanded all men everywhere to repent of their sin and believe the gospel.

  • He promises that whoever does so will be saved.

  • Our faith is based on the teaching He has given us in His infallible Word, the Bible






The Doctrinal Basis of Our Faith

  1. The divine inspiration, infallibility and inerrancy of Holy Scripture as originally given and its sole authority in all matters of faith and conduct. 2 Timothy 3:15-17.
  2. The unity of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit eternally in the Godhead. John 17:3-21; Matthew 3:15-17; 28:19-20; 2 Corinthians 13:14.
  3. The Sovereignty of God in Redemption, Creation, Revelation, and Final Judgement. Colossians 1:12-20.
  4. The full deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Virgin Birth and His real and sinless humanity, Matthew 16:16; Luke 1:26-35; Hebrews 7:26.
  5. The universal sinfulness and guilt of human nature since the Fall rendering man subject to God's wrath and condemnation. Isaiah 53:6; John 3:36.
  6. Redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin and from the dominion of Satan only through the sacrificial death (as our representative and penal substitute) of Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Son of God. 2 Corinthians 5:15-21; Hebrews 2:14.
  7. The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Corinthians 15:3-8
  8. The necessity of the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ effective to the individual sinner, granting him repentance towards God and faith in Jesus Christ. John 3:3-8; 16: 7-11.
  9. The justification of the sinner freely by grace through faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 3:24-26.
  10. The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the Believer. Ephesians 1:13; Romans 8:9.
  11. The expectation of the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 1-6-13.
  12. The eternal blessedness in heaven of the redeemed and the eternal punishment in Hell of the unbelieving. Matthew 25:46.
  13. The one Holy Universal Church which is the Body of Christ and to which all true Believers belong. Ephesians 4:4-6.
  14. Believers' Baptism by immersion is ordained by our Lord, practised by the Apostles and taught in the New Testament. Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4.
  15. Each 'Local Church' is called to be an autonomous 'gathered community' of regenerate believers, living in fellowship with all other believers within the One Body of Christ; and is thus sufficient under Christ for the ordering of its life in obedience to his Will. Philippians 1: 1; Acts 20:28.





The Task and Purpose of the Church

This is based on the life of the early Church, particularly Acts 2:42. "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers", and Matthew 28:18-20, "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, 'All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world'. Amen".

The Task and Purpose is:
  • To worship. (Acts 2:42)
  • To evangelise, (Matthew 28:19-20) primarily locally, but also with a national and international vision. (Acts 1:8)
  • To build up its members. (Ephesians 4:12-16: "For the perfecting of the saints" etc.)
  • To instruct new converts. (Matthew 28:19-20)
  • To administer the two sacraments. (Matthew 28:19-20)
  • To show the compassion of Christ. (1 John 3:16-18)
  • To base all its doctrine on Scripture. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
